Why Timely Vaccination Matters?
Each vaccine is designed to provide immunity at a specific stage of your child’s development. Administering them on time maximizes their effectiveness and offers protection when your child needs it the most. Children vaccination timing also helps prevent outbreaks of contagious diseases in the community. At Smile Children Clinic, Andheri, our pediatricians guide parents through the entire child immunization plan to keep every child safe from preventable illnesses.
Newborn to Early Weeks (Birth to 14 Weeks)
At birth, your baby receives BCG, OPV, and Hepatitis B1 vaccines to protect against tuberculosis, polio, and hepatitis B. By 6 weeks, the schedule includes DTP 1, IPV 1, HepB 2, Hib 1, Rotavirus 1, and PCV 1, building immunity against diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis, polio, and rotavirus infections.
At 10 weeks, the second set (DTP 2, IPV 2, Hib 2, HepB 3, Rotavirus 2, PCV 2) boosts early immunity. 14 weeks completes the initial series with DTP 3, IPV 3, Hib 3, HepB 4, Rotavirus 3, and PCV 3.
6 to 12 Months – Protecting Developing Immunity
At 6 months, your child gets the first dose of Influenza (Flu) vaccine, protecting them against seasonal flu. By 7 months, the second dose is administered along with the Typhoid Conjugate Vaccine, crucial for typhoid prevention.
By 9 months, your child receives their first MMR vaccine, guarding against measles, mumps, and rubella. At 12 months, a booster dose of MMR 2 and the first Hepatitis A (HepA 1) vaccine are given at Smile Children Clinic in Andheri.
15 to 19 Months – Strengthening Immunity
The 15-month vaccines include Varicella 1 (Chickenpox) and a PCV Booster to reinforce earlier protection.
Between 16–18 months, your child receives DTP B1, IPV B1, and Hib B1, essential booster doses for diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis, polio, and Haemophilus influenzae type b.
At 18–19 months, the schedule includes Hepatitis A 2 and Varicella 2, completing the hepatitis A series and boosting chickenpox immunity.
4–6 Years – School-Entry Protection
As your child grows and enters school, their immune system requires additional support. Between 4–6 years, booster doses of DTP B2, IPV B2, and MMR 3 are recommended to ensure lasting protection.
Our Andheri-based vaccination clinic provides school-entry immunization support, ensuring your child is school-ready with all required vaccines.
9–14 Years – Adolescent Immunization
During adolescence, children should receive the HPV (Human Papillomavirus) vaccine, which is given in 2 doses if administered before 14 years of age, and in 3 doses if started after 14. HPV vaccination helps prevent infections that could lead to certain cancers later in life. At 10 years, the Tdap vaccine (Tetanus, Diphtheria, and Pertussis booster) is given to maintain immunity into the teenage years.
